Dapplepatch opened her eyes. "Blackear!" she purred, rushing to his side and licking his cheek. "I've missed you." she meowed, her eyes somber. "Why haven't you come to see me?"

He purred in greeting and licked her over the ear affectionately "I've missed you too, Dapplepatch." he mewed "I'm sorry I haven't been visiting you much, I've been guiding our daughter, Softpaw." he purred

He nodded "Autumnwing 's life is coming to its end." he mewed "Illness has taken alot out of her as well as old wounds." he meowed smiling down at Foxkit

He nodded "Autumnwing is the one who took her in. Although she wasn't able to provide milk like the queens she still treated her like her own kit and has trained her well. She did the same with Thymeheart, even though Thymeheart had his mother she still treated him lovingly." he mewed

Dapplepatch nodded. "When she reached Starclan," her eyes welled with tears. "tell her how grateful I am." Dapplepatch wished she could have been the one who was with her and raised her own kit, but things just wouldn't work that way.
